MALAYSIA METRO-part 1

Photo 1 : Glitter night of Kuala Lumpur.

Photo 1 : KL Sentral station, modal intergrated public transport.

WHEN THE POPULATION RISES UP, THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES ON ROAD INCREASES, THEN TRAFFIC JAM OCCURS. SUCH A CITY, THERE ARE A FEW KIND OF MANAGEMENT DEMANDED IN ORDER TO SOLVE THE CROWD. AMONG OF THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO PROVIDE A GOOD TAFFIC SYSTEM, AS INDICATED IN THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. A STUDY OF TRAFFIC APPLIED (INTO TYPES OF VEHICLES, ROAD CHARACTERISTICS, SPEED FLOW, ETC), VEHICLES FLOW SURVEYED, THEN SOLUTION WILL BE DETERMINED. EXAMPLES OF SOLUTIONS ARE CONSTRUCTING FLYOVERS, PUBLIC TRANSPORT FACILITIES, WIDENING ROAD WIDTH, ELEVATED VIADUCTS, CITY TRAM, BUS RE-ROUTINGS, UNDERGROUND BY-PASS AND MANY MORE. FURTHER MORE, IT IS COMPULSARY FOR EVERY USER TO BE OBEY AGAINST THE RULES.

USUALLY, PUBLIC TRANSPORT WILL BE THE PRIORITY TO CONSIDER, SUCH AS BUSES, TAXI CABS, CITY TRAMS AND EVEN THE PEDESTRIANS. THAT IS WHY IT IS COMMONLY SEEN THE BUS LANE-ONLY, ONE-WAY ROAD, PUBLIC FLY-CROSSING BRIDGES AND NETWORK OF LIGHT TRAIN. ALL THIS MATTER MADE TO PROVIDE CONVINIENCES, TIME AND COST SAVINGS AND FRIENDLY TO ENVIRONMENT.

IN KUALA LUMPUR, ONE OF THE SOLUTION TAKEN IS TO BUILD THE LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT (LRT). FIRST RAILWAY HAS BEEN BUILT DURING BRITISH ERA IN 1884 CONNECTING TAIPING TO PORT WELD, FOR A TRADING PURPOSE. THEN IT EXPANDED TO CONNECT WITH OTHER CITY. IN KUALA LUMPUR, THE MAIN STATION IS STESEN KERETAPI KUALA LUMPUR, BUT A BRAND NEW INTERGRATED MODAL TRANSPORT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED AT KUALA LUMPURT CENTRAL (OR KL SENTRAL).

WHAT KIND OF SERVICES OFFERRED AT KL SENTRAL?
  • INTER-CITY TRAIN TO THE NORTH UP TO THAILAND, DOWN SOUTH TILL SINGAPORE AND TO THE EAST COAST.

  • EXPRESS RAIL LINK (ERL) CONSISTS OF KLIA TRANSIT (A FEW STOPPAGES SUCH AS PUTRAJAYA AND CYBERJAYA) AND KLIA EXPRESS TO THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (NON-STOP). KL SENTRAL IS ALSO THE KL CITY AIR TERMINAL (KL CAT) WHERE YOU CAN DO CHECK-IN FOR FLIGHT.

  • KELANA JAYA LINE (FORMERLY KNOWN AS PUTRA LRT) AND COMMUTES TO AN INTERCHANGE FOR AMPANG LINE AND SRI PETALING LINE (FORMERLY KNOWN AS STAR LRT).

  • KL MONORAIL.
  • KTM KOMUTER.
  • FEEDER BUSSES AND TAXIS.
