SEGMENTS CROWNED

AS THE LAUNCHERS MOVE ON, PARAPET GANTRIES ARE CHASING THEM. ON JUNE 23, PARAPET GANTRY NO.3 WAS INSTALLED ON SPAN P25-P26, THEN ANOTHER PARAPET ERECTION LISTED ON PROGRESS. CURRENTLY UPDATED, PARAPET GANTRY NO.1 ARE RUNNING ON TO CROWN THE LAST 2 SPANS SEGMENT OF LG NO.2 FIRST ROUTE (NANGLOI RAILWAY STATION-RAJDHANI PARK), WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 20 PIECES OF PARAPET. GANTRY NO.2 IS CHASING LG NO.1, NOTED IT JUST FINISHES ERECTING THE PARAPET OF 7th SPAN. HOPEFULLY, BY THE NEXT COMING DAYS, PARAPET ERECTION PROGRESS WILL CONSTANTLY IMPROVED AND BE A PROGRESS THAT CAN BE PROUD OF. SO FAR, 1140 PARAPET INSTALLED.

ON JUNE 18, MANAGING DIRECTOR TUAN SHUKOR ARRIVED IN DELHI FOR HIS OFFICIAL FLYING VISIT TO INDIA PROJECT HERE. SPENDING 3 DAYS IN DELHI, BROUGHT MR SHUKOR TO VISIT THE SITES IN ORDER TO SEE THE PROGRESS RUNNING, INSTEAD TO GIVE ENCOURAGEMENT TO EVERYBODY INVOLVED. LOOKING AT HIM, THE FIRST IMPRESSION COME OUT ON MIND WAS OUTRAGEOUSLY AMBITIOUS, ESPECIALLY THOSE FIRST TIME MET HIM. LISTENING TO HIM, EVERY WORD IS SPOKEN WELL AND MEANINGFUL, CONVINCING US TO FOCUS THE AIM. ON JUNE 19, ALL MALAYSIANS STAFF WERE INVITED FOR A DINNER AT TEQUILA RESTAURANT, TOGETHER WITH SPECIAL GUESTS; MR. HALIM SURATMAN, MR ZULKIFLI KAMARUDIN, MR CHAN CHI LEE AND MR ANUAR ABDUL. DELIGHTFUL SERVED, STARTED WITH VERY UNIQUE APPERTIZER, MARVELLOUS MEAL OF MUGHLAI AND TRADITIONAL INDIAN AFTERMINT HERBS AS THE DESSERT, SO ENJOYABLE. MR SHUKOR AND MR CHAN FLY HOME ON JUNE 20 THEN FOLLOWED BY MR HALIM ON JUNE 25 AND MR ZULKIFLI ON JUNE 27. CONSEQUENTLY, THIS FLYING VISIT DONE PERSIST FLYING COLOURS.

1st LAYER ON 3rd SPAN (C.I.S)

ON JUNE 12, CONCRETE POURED ON C.I.S THIRD SPAN OF PP134-PP135. THIS IS LOCATED IN BETWEEN OF THE 2 COMPLETED SPAN AT C.I.S I SITE. FORTUNATELY, NO BAD INCIDENT HAPPENED AS THE PROGRESS COMPLETED WITHIN A FEW HOURS. SO FAR, AT C.I.S II SITE, 3 SPAN ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION, ONE OF THEM IS NOW INSTALLING THE OUTER SHUTTERS AND THE REST ARE INSTALLING THE CRIBS. AS A CONCLUSION, 5 SPANS ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. AFTER THE FIRST LAYER CASTING, IT IS BELIEVED TO PROCEED WITH SECOND LAYER CASTING WITHIN 20 DAYS. HOPEFULLY, THE COMING MONSOON SEASON WILL NOT AFFECTS MUCH THE PROGRESS BUT ENCOURAGES EVERYBODY TO DOUBLE UP EFFORDS TOWARDS THE END. AS THE FIRST LAYER CASTED, IT CONTRIBUTES SOME PERCENTAGE TO THE CAST IN-SITU PROGRESS AND MAKES OVERALL COMPLETION PERCENT UP TO 21.98%.

FORWARDED LAUNCHERS

ON JUNE 13, LG NO.2 COMPLETED ALL THE 6 SPANS ON EXIT LINE. THIS ROUTE IS CONNECTING BETWEEN THE SECOND C.I.S SITE (EXIT LINE OFF MUNDKA STATION) AND THE RAMP TOWARDS THE DEPOT. THE LAUNCHER WILL BE DISMANTLED AND MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION ON P54-P55 NEAR NANGLOI RAILWAY STATION. THIS THIRD ROUTE OF LG NO.2 CONSISTS 26 SPANS. 7 CURVE SPANS EXPECTED TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT 3 PARTICULAR LOCATION OF P55-P52, P40-P38 AND P32-P30. IN ADVANCE, THE CRIBS PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATING THE LAUNCHER IS ALREADY ON PROGRESS IN ORDER TO FASTEN UP THE LAUNCHING ACTIVITY.

MEANWHILE, LG NO.3 IS NOW ON PROGRESS TO CONSTRUCT THE REST 6 SPANS TOWARDS SURAJMAL STADIUM. MOST OF THE SPANS ARE CURVILINEAR AND WILL BE WORKING ON PORTAL PIERS. THE MAIN CHALLENGE IS THE EXPECTED TRAFFIC AND TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, THE ROAD HAS TO BE DIVERTED.

JUNE 3 WAS THE LAST EPISODE FOR US TO SEE FORMER SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, MR. MAK HON MING STEPS OUT. HE IS A HIGH DEDICATED, CARING AND EASY-GOING PERSON WITH FULL OF AMBITION. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERY LITTLE ADVICES AND GUIDANCES GIVEN, IT'S PRECIOUS. SAYONARA AND BON VOYAGE! PAST IS PAST AND TIME GOES ON, THE POSITION LEFT IS NOW HANDED TO MR. ANUAR ABDUL, IN ORDER TO CONTINUE THE RESPONSIBILITY. GOOD LUCK.
